Rachael Lankshear
Chair
Rachael is Practice Manager at a Torquay EMIS practice. For 5 years she worked as a Clinical System Champion for DEVON CCG supporting EMIS practices, delivering training and running the local EMIS User Group
Tessa McCooey
Secretary
Tessa has worked within Primary Care for 11 years and is currently a Digital Transformation Lead for a PCN in South Devon. She also works one day a week as a system champion for Devon ICB specialising in EMIS.
Paul Machin
Committee Member
Paul is the IT Support Lead at Stockport’s GP Federation, Viaduct Care CIC. He has worked with and within the NHS since 1995 and has over 15 years’ experience of clinical systems.
He has previously worked in a number of roles at EMIS gaining a vast knowledge of the clinical system, along with working in the NHS and in private consultancy.
In his current role he manages IT issues and equipment, acts as the expert for EMIS, assisting with system configuration, training, implementation, report building and trouble-shooting.
Shazia Shahzad
Committee Member
Shazia has worked in Primary care for the last 15 years and is currently a Primary Care Facilitator for the Clinical Effectiveness Group in North East London. With a background in Contract Management and Quality Improvement, she hopes to support practices to deliver a high level of care for their patients in a safe, manageable and effective way through efficient use of EMIS Web and additional IT solutions.
Karen McCarthy
Committee Member
Karen has worked in Primary Care since 2007 and is currently the Audit and Digital Transformation Lead for her surgery. She is a Digital Champion and has previously run an Emis user group. She supports her practice team with Emis training, systems configuration and trouble-shooting. She creates templates and concepts within the system to make data inputting and work flow more efficient.
Rachel Bower
Committee Member
GP principal in East London, GP trainer and undergraduate teacher. Once upon a time did an MSc in computer science. Like to combine the joys and frustrations of clinical work and IT. Practice lead for mental health. Interested in current challenges of access, the patient journey, ensuring equity , greener practice, public health, and community engagement.
