Welcome to our new EMIS Nug website. This is a BETA website and still undergoing testing and updates, so please bear with us.

User Development Requests

EMIS engages with EMISNUG on User Development Requests (UDRs). EMIS has committed to continuing to work with the NUG in order to develop the new system in line with users’ requirements and the NUG will continue to collate users’ opinions and represent them to EMIS.

The UDR Subcommittee meets developers and managers in monthly tele-conferences. At each meeting we review the requests which have been collected, from the EMIS NUG Facebook page, other social media, direct contacts from members, or the committee members’ own experience of using EMIS Web. Using a weighted assessment process we produce a revised work plan and roadmap for the development team. A number of very welcome developments have already been implemented through this route.

The group reports back to the NUG Committee and at the end of the year to the members in the Annual Report. Reports and updates from the meetings will be posted in the blog below.

If you have suggestions for aspects that you would like to see enhanced please contact us via the EMISWeb NUG Development Requests Facebook page ,or this website contact form. For any useful looking ideas we send you a webform (‘MachForm’) which feeds into a database held by EMIS. We discuss and weight the ideas at our monthly meeting. We try to keep you updated – however the process from idea to development is long and tortuous: it has to fit with the EMIS development programme, be ‘do-able’ in terms of ease of creation and implementation, it has to have plenty of ‘bangs for bucks’, helping a lot of people or easing a particuarly difficult problem, on testing it must not adversely affect other parts of the system. But NUF members have had good success in ideas implemented by EMIS and the more recent ones will have a little EMISNUG indicator alongside them.
